GUNDAMN!

MG Force Impulse

For my second kit, I wanted to give painting a try and see what neat paint scheme I could come up with.  The idea I came up with was to make a sort of “anti-Gundam.”  I noticed that a lot of Gundams are white with blue, red, and yellow details.   On my Force Impulse, the white parts became Metallic Black, the blue parts became Mica Red, the red parts became Mica Blue (even though they look totally black), and the yellow parts became purple.  While building, I noticed there were a few lavender parts on some of the runners.  I decided to leave those the same color because I thought they would look good with the finished color scheme.  Lupes did all the painting on this kit as I haven’t done it myself yet.  Force Impulse was a lot more complicated to build than Jagd Doga as it has probably twice as many part runners.  Overall, it wasn’t too much of a hassle putting Impulse together.  I’d say that the only real problems I had with the kit were the hands.  For some reason, the fingers wouldn’t stay in place very well.  This model took probably about 15 hours or so to finish (including painting).  I’m pretty happy with the finished product.  My only gripe is that I wish the blue would’ve stood out more instead of looking black.  My next project is going to be MG Master Gundam.  I’m going to take a shot at painting it myself this time.  Wish me luck!
